Gorillaz Lands in Phoenix for Plastic Beach World Tour

Fresh from their successful headlining performances at the Coachella Festival in spring and the Glastonbury Festival in late June, Noodle, 2-D, Murdoc and Russell, better known as the virtual rock band Gorillaz, show no signs of breaking from performing anytime soon as they lay out new tour dates spanning three continents – North America, Europe and Australia, before the year comes to an end.

The new dates are in support of the band’s latest release, “Plastic Beach” which hit the stands in March. The Damon Albarn-Jamie Hewlett animated rock outfit is scheduled to drop by the US and Canada with a show in Montreal on October 2 to kick things off. They will be cruising by the west coast during the tour’s homestretch which will include a stop in Phoenix in late October.

Catch Gorillaz as they fill Phoenix’s Dodge Theater with stunning visuals, animations plus some good rocking on October 26, Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Tickets will go on sale on August 6, Friday at 10 AM MST via Live Nation. Presale tickets will be solely available via the Gorillaz fan club presale on August 2, Monday at 10 AM MST. Nickelback Rock Cricket Wireless Pavilion October 29

Nickelback’s “Dark Horse” tour sees no end in sight as the band embarks on another leg of the said tour to further promote their 2008 chart topping release “Dark Horse”.

The tour opens with a show at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on September 14. The 25-city outing will wind up with a show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on October 30. But before they hit Sin City, they will first grace the stage of the Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix on October 29, Friday at 6:15 PM.

Performing as opening acts for the event are rock outfits Buckcherry and Three Days Grace. Tickets are available to the public beginning July 17, Saturday at 10 AM MST through Live Nation. Advanced tickets can be accessed through the Nickelback fan club presale event on July 8, Thursday at 10 AM MST. AOL.com is also holding a presale event on July 9, Friday at 10 AM MST and the last batch of presale tickets are exclusively available to Citi cardholders on July 12, Monday at 10 AM MST.

Ticket prices are as follows: $29.50 for general admission at the lawn, $69.50 for level 3 seating, $29.50 to $89.50 for level 2 seating and $89.50 for both level 1 seating and pit areas.

Yo Gabba Gabba Entertains Phoenix December 4-5

If you enjoyed the “Yo Gabba Gabba!” show while it was airing over at Nick Jr. then you will surely enjoy seeing the whole gang – DJ Lance Rock, Muno, Foofa, Toedee, Plex and Brobee – and their colorful antics when they perform live in Phoenix in the fall.

With the recent successes of their live performances at The White House and at the Coachella Festival, they are now making waves in the amphitheatre and arena scene as they bring their famous Nick Jr. show on the road for the “Yo Gabba Gabba!: There’s a Party in My City” North American tour.

They can be seen performing live at The Dodge Theatre in Phoenix on the weekend of December 4 and 5, with two show times for each day, one at 2 PM and a second performance at 5 PM.

Tickets will be available to the public on June 7, Monday at 10 AM MST through Ticketmaster. A presale event will be held by Live Nation on June 2, Wednesday at 10 AM MST. The Gabba Party Package, which includes a premium ticket and a meet-and-greet with the whole cast will be initially available to AMEX cardholders on May 20, Thursday at 10 AM MST then to the general public on May 26, Wednesday at 10 AM MST.

Tickets are priced at $33 for all levels. Children who are one year of age and older will require a ticket.

American Idol Top Ten Conquer Phoenix August 12

As the season finale of everyone’s favorite talent show – American Idol – is fast approaching as the week passes, fans of the show should brace themselves when the “A.I” top ten hits their home turf for the “American Idol Live!” tour kicking off on July 1 in Detroit.

This season’s top ten will be heading down south by the border when they stop by Phoenix in mid-August. See them perform live when they hit the US Airways Center on August 12, Thursday at 7:30 PM. Ticketmaster will start selling tickets online on May 15, Saturday at 12 PM MST. Advanced tickets can be bought through the presale events brought by Live Nation, radio, local and the American Idol Music website on May 14, Friday at 10 AM MST.

Tickets go for $35.75 for selected seats in the upper and lower levels, and $65.75 for selected seats in the upper and lower levels and for the entire floor level.

The tour will cap off with a show in Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center on September 14. The order of appearance of each of the finalists in every show is determined by the order of their elimination from the talent show.

Toby Keith brings ‘American Ride’ to Phoenix August 8

With the release of his new studio album “American Ride” last fall, country act Toby Keith has signed on to perform in more than 40 cities almost throughout this year to support the said album.

As part of his six month trail through various US and Canadian cities, Keith will be hitting Phoenix’s Cricket Wireless Pavilion for a one-night concert with special guests Trace Adkins and James Otto on August 8, Sunday at 7 PM.

Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster on May 8, Saturday at 10 AM MST. Advanced tickets will be available to Citi cardholders May 5, Wednesday at 10 AM MST. Another presale event by Live Nation will be held on May 7, Friday at 10 AM MST.

Ticket prices are $69.75 for level 1 seats, $49.75 for level 2 seats and $29.75 for level 3 and general admission lawn seats.

“American Ride” is Toby Keith’s 13th studio album. He wrote all the songs included in the said album with the exception of the carrier single which is also entitled “American Ride”. Still, the song managed to climb at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, making the track his 13th single to reach a Billboard top 1 status.

Roger Waters Performs at US Airways November 27

Brace yourself Phoenix as Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters will be performing only for one night as part of “The Wall” tour which commemorates the album’s 30th year since its release in 1979. Waters will perform hits from the said album – all 26 of it – which has only been done for 31 times, most often during Pink Floyd’s 1980-1981 tour.

Waters will be performing at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at exactly 8 PM since there will be opening acts or other performers.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 10 AM MST. Pre-sale tickets are available for AMEX cardholders from Monday, May 3, starting at 10AM, until Sunday, May 9, which ends at 10 PM. iTunes is also offering pre-sale tickets from Thursday, May 6 starting at 10 AM until Sunday, May 9, which ends at 10 PM. Robert Plant & Band of Joy in Phoenix July 20

Led Zeppelin’s former front man, Robert Plant, along with his group, The Band of Joy, will be performing at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, AZ on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 7:30 PM. Plant is said to perform songs from his new album, which is still untitled at the moment but will be released in the summer.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on the 9th of April 2010 (Friday). Presale or early bird tickets are not available for the said event. Ticket prices are from $36.50 to $86.50.

Korn, Rob Zombie Headline Mayhem Festival in Phoenix

This year’s Mayhem Festival, sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink, will be bringing in Korn and Rob Zombie to lead the pack of rock bands set out to perform in the said event, which will kick off in July 10.

Korn will be heading to Phoenix, AZ for its fourth stop for the event on July 16, 2010 when they perform at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion at 2:15 PM. Tickets go on sale on April 30, 2010 at 10 AM through Ticketmaster. Presale tickets are available to Citi cardholders only from April 28, 10 AM until April 29, 10 PM. Non-cardholders can avail of other presale tickets via Radio and Live Nation only on April 29, from 10 AM to 10 PM. Ticket prices are from $25 to $69.

Korn will be promoting their upcoming studio release “Korn III” Remember Who You Are” during the festival. Rob Zombie will also be headlining the event who will also be promoting his current release from his new label (Roadrunner Records), “Hellbilly Deluxe 2”.

Ray LaMontagne, David Gray to perform at Dodge Theatre September 1

Ray LaMontagne, best known for his 2008 “Gossip in the Grain” release have teamed up with British singer/songwriter David Gray for a tour spanning from summer till fall to promote each of their records on the road.

Both artists are scheduled to hit the Dodge Theater in Phoenix for a one-night gig on September 1, Wednesday at 7:30 PM. Kris Allen, Angel Taylor and Tift Merritt will all be performing as support acts for the event.

Tickets go on sale beginning April 30, Friday at 10 AM MST through Live Nation. Presale tickets are also available through the Live Nation presale on April 29, Thursday at 10 AM MST. Tickets are priced from $32 for general admission to $72 for premium seats.

LaMontagne will use the tour to back up his most recent release “Gossip in the Grain” which also marks the singer/songwriter’s highest rating album in the Billboard 200 charts as it debuted at the third spot upon its release.

Meanwhile, Gray is also supporting his latest studio effort entitled, “Draw the Line” which features vocal collaborations with Annie Lennox and Jolie Holland. The album surfaced in September of last year and marks the first time for Gray to work without his regular music collaborator Craig McClune.

Carrie Underwood Plays Jobing.com Arena October 3

Carrie Underwood is touring on the release of her latest album “Play On,” and is currently in the midst of a 45-city tour that has unfortunately omitted Phoenix from its itinerary. Well consider the Valley of the Sun missed no longer. This morning, Underwood unveiled additional plans that will carry her tour through December and hit an extra 41-cities including Phoenix’s Jobing.com Arena on Sunday, October 3 at 7:30pm.
